The Shepherd’Äôs Center of Greenbrier Valley commissioned this portrait of Rupert mayor Charles W. Mundy. Using historical footage, photographs and music, the life and many accomplishments of Mr. Mundy are shown. Mundy said, ’ÄúI just have a different sense of value. Things that don’Äôt mean anything to some people, to me they mean a great deal.’Äù He worked as a coal miner and insurance agent before he was elected mayor of Rupert, bringing his wife from Bluefield. He was born and raised in Tazewell, Virginia, growing up under the influence of an uncle after his father died.
