WVFFF Filmmaker of the Year Award

The WV Filmmakers Festival is seeking nominations for the prestigious Filmmaker of the Year Award. The recipients will receive an original piece by Sutton sculptor William Hopen.

The award is given to the Filmmaker whose most recent work or lifetime work has had an utmost impact on the WV film industry. To nominate a filmmaker email wvfilmfest@hotmail.com the name, work to be considered for the award, and statement (less than 200 words) about the filmmaker. Include all information that you deem will assist others on the nominating committee on making their vote by September 7, 2008. For more info go to www.wvfilmmakersfestival.info.

About the WVFF founders

Call for Entries

Kevin Carpenter, president of the West Virginia Filmmakers Film Festival, has issued a call for entries for the 2008 festival to be held October 3-5, in Sutton, WV at the Landmark Studio for the Arts.

Films are selected based upon story, creativity, and production value. Films with West Virginia themes (made by, made in, or about WV) or of interest to West Virginians are given preference. The categories are:

  • Narrative Feature,
  • Documentary Feature,
  • Narrative Short,
  • Documentary Short,
  • Animation,
  • Two Minute Horror Competition,
  • Student.

Entry fee: $20.00
Deadline is September 1, 2008
Late Call: September 15, 2008

$25 late entry and
$5 Horror by Sept 15, 2008.
